Regional Multi-Modal Center
The Regional Multi-Modal Center has future plans for a Multi-Modal Service from McAllen that will be located in the McAllen Foreign Trade Zone. It will increase the National significance in improving cost competitiveness of U.S. manufacturing. It will reduce wear and tear on Texas/U.S. highways, lower product distribution costs, and reduce congestion and improve safety on America’s highways.

RoadRailer® Technology
Offers fast, secure, and cost efficient short haul/long haul truck rail movement all of which will allow one train engine to pull 150 trailers. The trailers provide a slack free ride on the rail. Contractors will pick up loaded trailers from shippers and take them to the train assembly terminal in the McAllen Foreign Trade Zone. The unique air ride system lifts the trailer as it is backed over the bogie. The air system then lowers the trailer and lifts and locks the tires above the tracks.
